Mourinho discovers a new gem at Real Madrid after the friendly matches

Real Madrid is drawing attention in the pre-season as young talent Alexis Sierra continues to leave his mark with performances full of speed and confidence.

In just seven months, Sierra has made a meteoric rise at Valdebebas. Joining Real Madrid in January, the 18-year-old initially played for the youth teams before quickly being promoted to Castilla. His outstanding performances caught the eye of coach José Mourinho, earning him the opportunity to train with the first team.

Sierra is naturally a right winger but can also operate effectively on the left flank. The young talent's standout strengths lie in his dribbling, speed, and boldness in one-on-one situations. He is not afraid to take on defenders, make a difference, and constantly put the opposition's defense under pressure.

According to an assessment from AS, Sierra impressed from his very first days in the youth teams. He scored in his first match for Juvenil A, then found the net in his second game for Real Madrid C. When given his first start for Castilla, the youngster quickly made his mark with a goal, after already providing an assist in his debut.

Sierra's form continued into the second half of last season. He gradually became a key figure for Castilla and contributed to Real Madrid's youth team's UEFA Youth League title. Across all youth competitions, Sierra scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists in just about five months.

These numbers partly explain why Mourinho has taken a special interest in the 18-year-old. From the very first training sessions, the Portuguese manager rated Sierra's abilities highly and recognized in him the qualities needed to develop into a first-team player.

Real Madrid is known for giving opportunities to outstanding young talents. If Sierra continues his current rate of development, he could well become one of the most notable discoveries of the Spanish royal club this season.
